Piazza Pet of the Week

Piazza Honda of Philadelphia and Piazza Auto Group are showing their appreciation for the Pennsylvania SPCA by sponsoring the Piazza Pet of the Week! Check out the Chris Stigall show each Wednesday at 7:50am on 1210-AM WPHT to hear about the newest Piazza Pet of the Week!

The PSPCA is the second humane organization founded in the United States nearly 150 years ago.  For more information about the PSPCA and adopting an animal - Visit the PSPCA website!

Check out Jerry in action in the video below. Pepper, Holly, Whiskers, and Thistle are all still available.

Jerry is a 3 year old Pittie Mix. Jerry was rescued by the PSPCA's Humane Law Enforcement Department. He is a very sweet and excitable dog who has gone to several events and loved everyone he met! Jerry will need a family that can work with him on his training and helping him contain his excitement. He would best fit in a home with teens and up due to his energy!
Whiskers is a 6 year old domestic long-haired grey and white cat. He was recently surrendered by his owner to the Danville center. Whiskers is a loving and friendly cat. He is good with other cats and even dogs. He is friendly with children as long as they are not bothering him. Whiskers is ready to find his forever family!
 Rupert - Adopted!!
Rupert is a 1 year old male black and beige domestic short-hair cat. Rupert is waiting to be adopted! He is very social and friendly. He is loving towards other family pets and tolerates being picked up. Rupert would be a great fit in any home! June is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month! Rupert's adoption fee would be only $20 with the purchase of a collar and tag until June 30th!
 Ruppy - Adopted!!
Ruppy is a 5 year old Beagle/Australian Kelpie mix. He is a sweet boy who loves his toys. Ruppy likes to be near someone when he is home. It can take him a while to settle down after a car ride or being left alone for a while. He would benefit from a fenced yard to run around and roam free. Ruppy would make the best family pet with further training and lots of love!
Holly is a big and beautiful Pittie Mix. She is ten years old and part of the PSPCA's Senior Prom promotion. Holly loves to go for walks, play with her toys, and hang out with people. The more the merrier! Holly is great with people of all ages. She is house broken and crate trained. She is very mellow and almost nothing scares her - not even the vacuum. Come and meet this sweet girl today!
 Carol - Adopted!!
Carol is a beautiful, lovely, and very athletic dog. Carol is a 3-4 year old Lab/Pit Bull mix. She was rescued by Humane Law Enforcement and her friends at the shelter describe her as lovely and sweet as the day is long. Carol would do great in a home with a fenced yard where she can run around and play. She is starting to learn her commands including sit and stay. Carol would benefit from a home that continues her training and also likes to run and play.
Thistle is a 6.5 year old Pit Bull mix. He came to the PSPCA through Humane Law Enforcement and is looking for his forever home. He has a sweet personality and is very social! He appears to be housebroken and comes when called. Thistle loves being pet and playing with toys. He will make a great dog for the right home!
 Diva - Adopted!!
Diva is a beautiful happy adult Pit Bull. She was rescued from the Humane Law Enforcement Team! She wasn't in the best shape when she arrived at our shelter, but she is recovering well and showing off her shining personality! Diva loves people and simply wants to say hi to everyone. She always has a smile on her face and can't wait to meet her forever family!
Pepper is a 4 year old Pit Bull mix. Pepper has a super chill personality. She is the best co-pilot, snuggle buddy, and walking partner. Pepper is loved by everyone who meets her. She is not a huge fan of other dogs, so she should be the only pet. Pepper is waiting on her forever forever family!
 Iris - Adopted!!
Iris is a 4 year old Pittie Mix. She is very sweet and energetic and loves to go for long walks with her canine friends. Iris was rescued by the PSPCA's Humane Law Enforcement offices in 2014. Sadly she has never been adopted. Iris should be the only pet in the house when she goes home. She isn't a fan of cats, but can get along well with other dogs on a leash. Iris is a staff and volunteer favorite, and her fan club would love to see her find her furever family.

Success of the Pet Program

The Piazza Pet of the Week program has had great results with over one hundred and fifty pets adopted! The animals below are only a few that have found new homes thanks to the caring families that gave them a second chance. Please visit the official Piazza Pet page to read a couple experiences of Piazza Pet owners.
