Cabin and engine air filters are designed to keep your vehicle free of contaminants. The cabin filter is typically shaped like a panel. It is usually underneath the passenger side of the dashboard. The purpose of the cabin air filter is to protect you. It removes mold spores and debris from the inside of the vehicle. If you notice that you or your passengers are sneezing more or a musty smell, then you may need to get the cabin filter changed.

The engine air filter is conical, round or panel-shaped. It is located underneath your hood. It helps protect your engine from debris. If the air filter is clogged, then it need to be changed or cleaned. Increased emissions and fuel consumption are signs that you may notice if it is time for you to get a new engine air filter.
